Custom commands
Give any command a new name for your server, like $store for $shop or $done for $ticket close, with optional preset values.
What a custom command is
A custom command is a new name for a command Noxyr already has. $store can run $shop, $done can run $ticket close, and $gnitro can run $giveaway create with the prize already filled in as Discord Nitro. Members type the new name as a message with your server prefix, and the bot runs the real command.
It never adds new behaviour. The real command runs with its own permissions, module switch and cooldowns, so a custom name cannot give anyone access they did not already have. The original name keeps working next to the new one.
Make one
- Open the dashboard, pick your server, and go to Control, then Custom Commands.
- Press New custom command, or open Templates and click one to add it ready-made.
- Type the new name in the Trigger box, for example store.
- Pick the command it runs in the Command box, and the action if that command has several (ticket has close, claim, rename and more).
- Optional: preset an option by wiring a Value into it, for example prize set to Discord Nitro.
- Changes save by themselves about a second after you stop editing. The status next to the Save button says when they are saved.
Custom commands are prefix commands: they work as messages like $store, not in the / menu. Discord only allows a bot to register its own slash commands, not one per server.
Graph and Simple list
The page has two views of the same list. Graph shows each custom command as a Trigger wired into a Command, with Values wired into its options: drag a dot onto another dot to connect them, click a wire to cut it, and drag a box by its title to move it. Tidy lines everything up again.
Simple list shows the same thing as plain rows with a name, a command picker and preset values. Use whichever you prefer; switching views changes nothing.
The panel on the left lists every custom command as old name, arrow, new name. Each one has an on and off switch, so you can pause a name without deleting it, and a delete button.
Templates
Templates add a finished custom command in one click. A template whose name you already use is greyed out.
- Music
- $p (play), $np (playing), $s (skip), $q (queue), $dc (leave), $vol (volume), $repeat (loop the queue), $bass (bass boost filter), $247 (play-24-7)
- Tickets
- $done (ticket close), $claim (ticket claim), $faqs (ticket faq-list)
- Store
- $store (shop), $vouch (review submit)
- Community
- $gnitro (giveaway create, prize Discord Nitro), $apply (application apply), $lb (leaderboard)
- Moderation
- $purge (clear)
Preset values and typed options
A preset is filled in every time the custom command runs. Anything a member types after the name is added on, so $gnitro 1h 1 still works with the prize already set. If the member types the same option by name (prize:"Gift card"), theirs wins over the preset.
- Values
- Up to 200 characters, with no double quotes or line breaks.
- Choices
- An option with a fixed list, such as the loop mode or a filter, only accepts a value from that list.
- Numbers
- Whole-number and number options only accept numbers; yes/no options accept yes, no, on, off, true and false.
- Files
- File options cannot be preset.
Rules for names
- Characters
- Letters, numbers, - and _, up to 32 characters. Spaces become dashes as you type, and names are lowercase.
- Real names
- A custom command cannot use the name of a real Noxyr command. Real names always win.
- Unique
- Each name can be used once per server.
- Limit
- Up to 100 custom commands per server.
The page lists anything that stops a save above the editor. Click a problem to jump to the box that needs fixing.
Change the prefix
The Prefix box at the bottom of the left panel changes the prefix for the whole server: custom commands and every normal command. Type up to 5 characters with no spaces, for example !, ?, . or n!, and press Save. Leave it empty for the default $. Every name on the page updates to the new prefix straight away.
The same setting is on the Setup page and in Discord with /prefix set.
Custom bot
If the server runs a Noxyr custom bot, it answers the same custom commands with the same prefix. Nothing needs to be set up twice.
