Command visibility
Make a command's reply visible only to the person who ran it, so busy channels stay clean.
What it does
Every command has a reply: the answer to /ping, the "added to the queue" line from /play, the rates from /currency. Visibility lets a server choose, per command, who sees that reply. Switch a command to Only the user and the reply becomes a private message in the channel that only the person who ran it can see, with Discord's "Only you can see this" note under it.
Only the reply changes. Anything a command posts on purpose stays public: a poll, a giveaway, the music player card, a ticket panel or the catalog.
Set it up on the dashboard
- Open the dashboard, pick your server, and go to Control, then Visibility.
- Switch on Only the user next to any command. Search the list, or filter it to the commands you already changed.
- Or click a preset: Quiet music (player replies), Private info (ping, bot stats, currency rates, invoice checks) or Staff replies (every staff and admin command).
- Changes save by themselves a moment later. The status next to the Save button says when they are saved.
Up to 200 commands can be set to Only the user. Make every command normal undoes all of them in one click.
Set it up in Discord
- /visibility view
- List the commands whose reply only the user sees.
- /visibility set command:<name> who:<who>
- Pick a command from the list, then Only the user who ran it, or Everyone to put it back.
- /visibility reset
- Every command replies the normal way again.
These need the Manage Server permission, the same as the other setup commands.
Always public
A few commands exist to share links: the support server, the dashboard, voting and the featured server list. They always post in the channel so everyone there sees the links, and they cannot be set to Only the user. On the dashboard they show a lock instead of a switch.
- /help
- Help pages, with Dashboard, Invite and Support Server buttons.
- /support
- The support server invite.
- /dashboard
- A link to the dashboard.
- /command-list
- The full command list and the support server.
- /vote, /votes
- Voting on Top.gg and the vote leaderboard.
- /custombot
- Your own bot, unlocked with a vote.
- /leaderboard
- The featured servers and how to apply.
Message commands
A message command like $ping cannot be hidden in the channel, because Discord only lets slash command replies be private. So a message command set to Only the user sends its reply by DM instead. If the member has DMs closed, a short note with an Open button appears in the channel, and the button shows the reply to that member only.
Custom command names follow the command they run: if /play is set to Only the user, $p does the same.
What it does not change
There is no setting to make a private reply public. Some replies are private on purpose (error messages, codes, keys), and they stay that way whatever the server picks.
Permissions, cooldowns and module switches are untouched. Visibility decides who sees the answer, never who can run the command.
