Prefix commands

Every slash command also works as a plain message, like $help. The prefix is $ by default and each server can change it.

How it works

Typing $help as a plain message and picking /help from the slash menu both reach the same bot reply. Prefix command (any message) $help Slash command (menu) /help /helpEvery command, grouped /help category:Tickets N Noxyr help Same reply, same permissions, either way.

A message starting with the server prefix is parsed into the same shape a slash command would produce and runs the same code, so permissions and behaviour are identical. Subcommands follow the name ($music settings), options are name:value ($sticky set text:"Read the rules" delay:300), and unnamed words fill the required options in order ($play never gonna give you up).

Channels, roles and users can be mentioned, pasted as an ID, or written by name. Yes/no options accept yes, no, on, off, true and false. An attached file fills an attachment option.

Commands

/prefix view
Show the current prefix.
/prefix set prefix:<text>
Change it: 1 to 5 characters, no spaces. For example !, ?, n! or nx.
/prefix reset
Back to the default $.

Differences from slash

Forms
Commands that open a pop-up form (for example /quick catalog add) only work from the slash menu; the prefix version says so.
Private replies
A reply that would have been visible only to you is sent to your DMs, with a note naming the server.
Autocomplete
Search-as-you-type suggestions are a slash feature; the prefix version takes what you typed.

The prefix is per server and your custom bot uses the same one. If another bot already uses !, pick a different prefix so both do not answer the same message.
