Posting and refreshing the catalog

How the catalog message is posted, what it contains, and how it stays in sync when products change.

One message, kept current

A shopper adds an item to their cart, the cart count rises, and checkout produces a paid invoice. Wireless Mouse $29 Add to cart 1 2 3 Invoice #1042 Paid

The catalog is a single embed in your catalog channel with a dropdown to browse categories and, optionally, a Check Prices button and a TOS button. The bot stores the message ID and edits that message whenever a product, category or price changes, so you never repost by hand. If someone deletes the message, the next change posts a fresh one.

Setup

/catalog setup
Sets the catalog channel and how the embed looks: title, description, footer, color, image, thumbnail, dropdown_placeholder and whether the check_prices_button is shown.
/catalog post
Posts the catalog now, or refreshes it if it is already posted.
/shop
Shows the catalog to the person who ran it, without posting.

What members see

Categories appear in the dropdown in the order you set with position; hidden categories (visible:false) are left out. Products show name, price in the enabled currencies and the features list. With the cart on and show_stock enabled, the cart also shows how many are left, and a product with stock 0 cannot be added to the cart.

If the catalog does not update

Check that the catalog channel is still set and the bot can see and edit messages in it (View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links). The Overview page flags a catalog module that is on but has no channel. Changing the channel posts a new message in the new one and leaves the old message alone; delete it yourself.
