Terms of service (TOS)
The TOS button on your catalog: embed text or a link, shown before checkout.
Setting it up
The TOS button lives on the posted catalog message, so buyers see it before they check out rather than only in a rules channel. It has two display modes.
- /catalog tos
- Set the mode, text or URL, title, embed color, footer and button label.
- Embed text mode
- Paste your terms directly, up to 3,500 characters. Opens as an embed when pressed.
- Link button mode
- Point the button at a URL instead, for longer terms managed outside Discord.
What belongs in it
A short policy on refunds, delivery time and what counts as proof of payment stops most disputes before they start. This is a starting point to write your own policy from, not legal advice - have it checked against rules that apply to you and your buyers.
Link mode needs a URL set before it can be turned on; the catalog button cannot be built without one.
Keeping it current
The catalog message refreshes itself whenever the TOS settings change, so the button never points at outdated terms. There is no version history built in - if you need buyers to have agreed to a specific wording, note the date in the text itself.
