The best Discord poll bot depends on one question: do you need to know who voted? Discord's built-in polls are the fastest way to ask a quick question, but they show nothing beyond the totals. What actually matters in a poll bot

Most "best poll bot" lists compare emoji counts. In practice, admins care about five things:

  • Live results. Does the message update as votes arrive, or do you need to re-run a command to see totals?
  • Choice limits and multiple choice. How many options, and can one member pick more than one?
  • Duration. Can the poll close itself at a set time, and can staff end it early?
  • Anonymity. Is the vote hidden from other members, from staff, or from nobody?
  • The record afterwards. When the message scrolls away or gets deleted, is the result gone with it?

Discord's native polls

Since 2024 every Discord server can post a poll without a bot: type the question, add up to 10 answers, pick a duration between an hour and 32 days, and optionally allow multiple selections. It is genuinely good for "pizza or tacos" questions and there is no setup.

The gaps show up when a poll has consequences. Native polls are visible to everyone and the vote list is only as detailed as what Discord exposes; there is no staff-only breakdown, no way to end early with a command, and nothing to link to once the message is buried. If you run a vote that decides something (an event date, a rule change, a community award), you usually want a bot behind it.

Noxyr polls

Noxyr's polls are part of its free giveaways and polls module, so if you already use it for giveaways or tickets there is nothing extra to invite. The command is /poll create with a question, a required duration written like 1h or 1d, between two and ten choices, and an optional channel.

How voting works

  • Members vote with buttons. Each member holds one vote; pressing a different choice moves it, pressing the same choice again does nothing.
  • The embed redraws with a progress bar, a percentage and a raw count per choice as votes arrive.
  • The poll closes on its own when the duration runs out. Staff can close it early with /poll end.
  • Staff can right-click the poll message and pick View Poll Voters to see exactly who chose what. Members do not see this list.
  • Every poll gets a web summary page listing the totals, so the result survives after the message is gone.

Where Noxyr does not fit

Noxyr polls are single-choice. If you need "pick all that apply", use a native Discord poll or EasyPoll. Noxyr polls are also not anonymous to staff: the voter list exists by design so admins can audit a contested result. If your community wants votes hidden from everyone including admins, a native poll is the more honest choice.

Simple Poll

Simple Poll is the bot most people picture when they hear "poll bot". It has been around for years, it is in an enormous number of servers, and the basic flow (question, options, done) takes ten seconds. It started as a reaction-based bot and now supports buttons as well.

The trade-off is that the free tier is deliberately basic, and features that make polls useful for moderation decisions tend to be gated. If you only ever run casual polls, it is still a fine pick. If you want a durable record or staff visibility, you will hit the paywall fairly quickly.

EasyPoll

EasyPoll leans into configuration: timed polls, multiple choice, closing announcements and result handling. It is a good middle ground for servers that need multi-select but do not want to build the poll by hand in Discord's UI. As with Simple Poll, some of the more advanced options are paid, so check the current feature table before you commit.

Which one should you use?

  • Casual question, no follow-up needed: native Discord poll. It is already there.
  • Decisions you may need to justify later: Noxyr. The staff voter breakdown and the web summary are the point, and it costs nothing.
  • Multi-select with a fixed close time: EasyPoll, or a native poll if you can live without the extras.
  • You already have Simple Poll and it works: keep it. Switching poll bots for their own sake is not worth the churn.

One practical note: poll bots are rarely worth a separate invite. Every bot you add is another set of permissions and another thing to update. If a bot you already run for tickets or security includes polls, use that first. The exact command options are in the command reference.
