One vote for Noxyr on Top.gg unlocks the Custom Bot setup form for 12 hours, and an already-running custom bot keeps going for a 74-hour grace period after that window closes if you forget to vote again. Nothing is ever deleted for missing a vote, and voting again switches everything straight back on. That's the entire mechanic, no subscription, no card, no tiers.
Why voting, not payment
Top.gg allows one vote per bot every 12 hours, and that's exactly how often Noxyr's own access window lasts. A vote costs nothing and takes a few seconds, it's a click and a captcha, not a purchase, which is why Custom Bot can offer its full feature set free instead of behind a subscription the way most white-label bots do.
What one vote actually unlocks
- The setup form. Without a vote, the Custom Bot page won't accept a token at all. Vote once and it opens.
- An existing bot keeps running. If you already have a custom bot going, voting again just refreshes the clock, it doesn't need to be down or broken first.
- Everything else is untouched. Tickets, the store, security and every other module never require a vote in the first place, only Custom Bot does.
The 74-hour grace period
When the 12-hour window closes, the bot doesn't go offline immediately. A 74-hour grace period starts: the bot keeps answering normally, but the Custom Bot page on the dashboard locks until you vote again. A reminder DM from your own bot arrives 24 hours after your last vote, 12 hours into the grace period, with a countdown to when it will actually go offline if nothing changes.
What happens if you never vote again
If the grace period also runs out, the bot goes offline and its slash commands are removed from the server. Nothing is deleted: the token, every setting, ticket, product and invoice stays exactly where it was. Noxyr's own bot picks the server back up in the meantime, so members aren't left with no bot at all, and one more vote is all it takes to switch the custom bot back on.
Voting again restores it, quickly
A fresh vote is picked up automatically, usually within the same sync cycle the bot's node runs on, no more than a minute or so. If the dashboard still shows locked right after voting, the "I voted" check on the Custom Bot page asks Top.gg directly instead of waiting.
Giving your vote window to someone else
The person who votes and the person who owns the bot don't have to be the same account. From the Custom Bot page you can hand your remaining window, all of it or a set number of hours, to another Discord user by their ID. The time is added on top of whatever they already have, so it never leaves them worse off, and both accounts get a DM confirming what moved. Only an active window can be transferred; once you're already in the grace period there's nothing left to give. Full details are in the voting docs.
Where to actually see your status
The Custom Bot page on the dashboard is the source of truth, not the /vote command. It shows two live countdown clocks: one for the current access window, and a second for the grace period once the window has closed, plus a clear statement of whether setup is currently unlocked. /vote itself just links to Top.gg and reminds you that a vote is good for 12 hours; it doesn't show your personal countdown, since that's a per-account number the dashboard is better placed to render live.
Why the window is paused, not burned, in one specific case
If Noxyr's own bot is removed from a server your custom bot depends on, the custom bot pauses there rather than counting that downtime against your vote window, as long as you don't have another bot of yours still running elsewhere. Once Noxyr is invited back, the bot starts again on its own and the window resumes exactly where it left off. It's the one situation where the clock intentionally doesn't move while the bot can't run, since that downtime isn't caused by anything to do with voting.
Common questions
Do I ever need to pay for this? No. The only cost, ever, is a Top.gg vote, which is free and takes a few seconds.
Does voting early stack extra time on top of what I have? No. Voting again replaces your window with a fresh 12 hours rather than adding to it, so voting right before it closes gets you the most out of each vote instead of voting the moment you're eligible.
Where does the reminder DM come from? Your own custom bot sends it, not Noxyr's main bot or Top.gg.
I just voted but the page still says locked, what now? There's a short delay while the vote is picked up. Refresh the page, or use "I voted" on the Custom Bot page to check directly.
Can I transfer my vote window if I'm not the one running the bot? Yes, transfers work by Discord user ID and don't require you to own the bot receiving the time.
