Four commands turn a basic music bot into a radio station: /24-7 keeps Noxyr in the voice channel around the clock, /autoplay keeps related tracks coming when the queue ends, /filters applies bass boost, nightcore, 8D and the rest, and /lyrics shows synced lyrics for whatever is playing. All four are free. Here is how to set each one up and the settings behind them.
24/7 mode: the bot never leaves
By default, Noxyr pauses when the last person leaves the voice channel and disconnects after the idle time (one to sixty minutes, set in /music settings auto_leave). A lo-fi channel or a community radio does not want that. Run /24-7 in the server to toggle it, or pass on:true to be explicit. With 24/7 on, the bot stays connected even when the channel is empty, and combined with autoplay it keeps playing.
Admins can make 24/7 the default for new sessions from the dashboard under Automation → Music, or with /music settings stay_247:true.
Autoplay: the queue never ends
/autoplay toggles autoplay for the current session. When the last queued track finishes, Noxyr picks a related track and keeps going, so a two-song queue turns into an evening. Like 24/7 it has a server default: /music settings autoplay:true makes every new session start with it on. Members can still queue their own tracks at any time; autoplay only fills silence.
Filters: bass boost, nightcore, 8D and more
Press the 🎚 button on the player card and the dropdown switches to filter presets, or run /filters. The presets are:
- Bass boost: a strong low-end EQ.
- Nightcore: faster and higher.
- Vaporwave: slower and lower.
- 8D: the sound slowly rotates around the listener.
- Karaoke: dampens the vocal track.
- Speed 1.25x and Slow 0.85x.
- Pitch up and Pitch down.
- Reset: back to normal.
One preset is active at a time; picking a new one replaces the old. The active filter survives a bot restart along with the queue and position. If members abuse filters, an admin can turn them off for everyone with /music settings allow_filters:false; DJs and Manage Server still keep access.
Lyrics: synced when available
/lyrics fetches lyrics for the current track. When a time-synced version exists, the reply follows the playback position so the current line stands out; otherwise the plain lyrics are shown. It works for any source, since the lookup is by title and artist rather than by where the audio came from.
Putting it together: a lo-fi radio channel in five minutes
- 1. Create a voice channel called something like
📻 lofi radio. - 2. Set defaults on the dashboard (Automation → Music): 24/7 on, autoplay on, default volume around 40, filters off for members if you want a consistent sound.
- 3. Join the channel and
/playa lo-fi playlist link from YouTube, Apple Music or SoundCloud. Playlists load whole. - 4. Optionally set a DJ role so only staff can change what plays. The DJ role and request channel guide covers that.
- 5. Leave. The bot stays, the playlist plays through, and autoplay carries on after it.
Common questions
Does 24/7 cost anything? No. On Noxyr it is a free toggle, not a premium feature.
Will the bot keep playing if it restarts? Yes. The queue, position, volume, loop mode and active filter are stored server-side and picked up again, as long as the bot is back within thirty minutes.
Can I stack filters? Not at the moment; presets are one at a time.
Can my custom bot do all this? Yes. A custom bot has the same player, filters, lyrics and settings.
