Configure Your Role Plan
Your Role Hierarchy
Roles are listed top (highest) to bottom (lowest). Create them in Discord from bottom to top.
Setup Checklist & Pro Tips
1
Create roles in Discord from BOTTOM to TOP — highest permission roles go last so they sit at the top of the list.
2
Use Noxyr's economy system to auto-assign level-based roles (Verified, Active, etc.) — no manual assignment needed.
3
Keep bot roles above all member roles so Noxyr can assign and manage them properly — this is the most common setup mistake.

In Discord, roles at the TOP of the list have the highest authority. Create your most powerful roles (Owner, Admin) at the top and work downward to the lowest-permission roles. When creating roles manually, Discord adds them near the top — so you'll need to drag them into the correct position. The easiest approach: create them in reverse order, starting from the lowest role first.
Moderators typically need: Kick Members, Manage Messages (to delete messages), Timeout Members (temporary mute), View Audit Log, and Manage Nicknames. Avoid giving Manage Roles or Manage Server to general moderators — reserve those for admins only. This prevents moderator abuse and keeps your admin layer secure.
The easiest way is to use Noxyr's economy and leveling system, which automatically assigns roles when members reach XP milestones. You can set up role rewards that trigger at any level — for example, "Verified Member" at level 5, "Active Member" at level 20. You can also configure reaction roles or activity-based rewards, all without any manual intervention.
