# Suggestions

A Suggest button that opens a form and posts member ideas to a channel you choose, staff-only or public.

## How it works

The panel is an embed with a Suggest button posted where members can see it. Pressing it opens a form with an optional title and a suggestion box (10 to 1500 characters). The bot posts the suggestion as a numbered embed to the review channel, adds thumbs-up and thumbs-down reactions if voting is on, and tells the member their number.

Because the review channel is a normal Discord channel, its permissions decide who reads suggestions: keep it staff-only to triage in private, or make it public so members can vote.

## Setup

- **/suggestions setup review_channel:<#channel>**: Required. Where suggestions are posted. Optional: channel (where the panel goes), title, message, button_label, color, image, thumbnail, footer, show_author, voting.
- **/suggestions post [channel]**: Posts the panel, or edits it in place if it is already posted.
- **/suggestions status**: Current settings and how many suggestions have been sent.
- **/suggestions off**: Turns the feature off; the button then tells members it is disabled.
- **Suggestions page (dashboard)**: The same fields with a preview. Saving refreshes a posted panel.

## Options

- **show_author**: On by default: the embed shows the member's name and avatar and their user ID in the footer. Off makes suggestions anonymous to readers; the bot still knows who sent it only through the counter, not the record.
- **voting**: On by default: adds 👍 and 👎 to every suggestion so the review channel doubles as a vote.
- **Panel styling**: Title, message, button label, color, image, thumbnail and footer. Leave image empty to use the server default image from the Customize page.

> Note: The bot needs Send Messages, Embed Links and Add Reactions in the review channel. Suggestions is its own module; turning it off hides the command and disables the button.
