# Music

Play YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music and SoundCloud in a voice channel, with a player card, filters, lyrics and playlists.

## Playing something

Join a voice channel and run /play with a song name or a link. Names search YouTube; type ytm: for YouTube Music or sc: for SoundCloud, or paste an Apple Music, SoundCloud, YouTube or Spotify link: songs, and playlists and albums, which load whole and in order (Spotify playlists must be public). Autocomplete shows the top matches as you type.

The bot posts one player card in the channel and keeps editing it: title, artist, progress bar, who requested it, volume, loop and what is next. On servers set to the V2 layout the card is a Components V2 container with the controls inside it.

- **⏮ ⏯ ⏭ ⏹ 🔀**: Previous, pause or resume, skip, stop and leave, shuffle.
- **🔁 🔉 🔊**: Loop off → track → queue; volume down and up in steps of 10.
- **🎚**: Swap the dropdown for filter presets: bass boost, nightcore, vaporwave, 8D, karaoke, speed, pitch, reset.
- **📃 and the dropdown**: Show the queue, or jump straight to a queued track.

## Who controls the player

Whoever requested the current track, anyone with Manage Server, and anyone with the DJ role can use every control. Without a DJ role set, everyone in the voice channel counts as a DJ.

Everyone else can still press skip: it becomes a vote, and the track skips once half the people in the voice channel have voted.

## Commands

- **/play, /pause, /resume, /skip, /stop, /seek, /volume, /join, /leave**: Playback.
- **/queue, /playing, /loop, /shuffle, /move, /remove, /clearqueue**: The queue. /queue also shows recently played tracks.
- **/lyrics**: Lyrics for the current track, synced when available.
- **/filters, /autoplay, /music settings stay_247**: Audio filters, keep playing related tracks when the queue ends, stay in the channel around the clock.
- **/playlist save | load | list | delete**: Your own playlists - saved to you, not the server, so they work everywhere Noxyr is.
- **/music settings | view**: DJ role, request channel, auto-leave time, default volume, autoplay default, filters on or off, keep playing in an empty channel, 24/7.

## Request channel and settings

Pick a request channel and every message posted there is treated as /play, then cleaned up - no command needed. Set it, the DJ role, 24/7, the idle time before the bot leaves and the default volume on the dashboard under Automation → Music, or with /music settings.

The dashboard Music page also shows the live player: what is playing, the queue with remove and play-next, and the same controls as the card. It works whether Noxyr or your custom bot is the one in the voice channel.

## Good to know

- **Custom bots**: Your custom bot plays music too, with the same commands and settings.
- **Alone in the channel**: By default the bot pauses when the last person leaves and resumes when someone comes back. After the auto-leave time it leaves, unless 24/7 is on. Turn on keep playing in an empty channel (/music settings play_when_empty, or the dashboard) and it stays and keeps playing.
- **Sponsor segments**: Sponsor, intro and outro segments on YouTube are skipped automatically.
- **Free**: Every music feature is included, no vote and no paid plan.
- **Autoplay**: When the queue ends it plays related songs. Turning it on turns Loop off (a loop never lets the queue end), and Skip with nothing queued goes straight to the next related song.
